Frequently asked questions
How many chairs fit around the table?
Allow about 60 centimetres of width for each seated person. A 160-centimetre table seats six comfortably, a 200-centimetre one eight. With extending tables it is worth planning a few extra chairs for when the table is open.
Chairs with or without arms?
Chairs with arms are more enveloping and comfortable for long meals, but they take up more space and need to fit under the table top. Armless chairs sit closer together and leave more room to move. A common choice is to use chairs with arms only at the ends of the table.
How do I choose the colour of the chairs?
Start from the table and the floor: with a dark top, light or warm-toned chairs work well; with a light top you can choose bolder colours such as green or terracotta. In the showroom you can place the chairs next to the table before deciding.
