A recliner sofa lets you raise your legs and find the right position for reading, watching a film or resting. Our catalogue includes modular and corner sofas with one or more reclining seats, where the footrest comes out of the seat, to combine with a chaise or a pouf. Before choosing, think about how many reclining seats you need and where, the space in front of the sofa when the footrest is out and, if you are interested in a power recliner, where the socket is. At our Erbusco showroom, in Franciacorta, a consultant will explain how the different models work and help you choose layout and upholstery from our samples, wherever you live in the province of Brescia.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a recliner sofa and a reclining sofa?
In everyday language they are almost the same thing. A reclining sofa has a back that tilts backwards; a recliner usually also has a footrest that rises from the seat, so you can stretch your legs out. There are also sofas whose seats slide forward to make the seat deeper: comfortable, but not recliners. At the showroom we can explain the differences model by model.
Is a manual or a power recliner better?
A manual recliner opens with a lever or by pushing with your body and does not need electricity. A power recliner works with a button, stops in the position you prefer and is easier for people who find movement tiring, but it needs a socket nearby. The choice depends on who will use it and where the sofa will go: at the showroom we will help you understand what the model you like offers.
How much space does a recliner sofa need?
As well as the size of the closed sofa, allow for the space in front when the footrest is out, so it doesn't hit the coffee table. Some mechanisms also need a little room behind the back, while others can sit close to the wall: it depends on the model. Before buying, it's worth checking the open dimensions with a consultant.
Can I have a corner sofa with recliner seats?
Yes. The catalogue includes corner and chaise layouts with recliner seats, as you can see in the photos of Ninfea, Olbia and Alghero. The number of recliner seats and where they sit in the layout depend on the model: we can go through the options together at the showroom.
